Can You Download Private or Secret Pinterest Boards?

Yes, with one condition. You can download your own secret boards and any private board that's been shared with you, because your browser can already see them. What you can't reach is a private board that was never shared with you in the first place.

What “private” means on Pinterest

Pinterest has a couple of privacy states, and they behave differently once you try to save them. Secret boards are yours and hidden from your public profile. Shared boards are private but opened up to specific people you've invited, or who invited you. Then there are other people's secret boards, which you simply never see. The first two you can download. The last one isn't a matter of the right tool; the content isn't reaching your browser at all.

Why it works for boards you can access

A download extension runs inside your own logged-in Pinterest session. It sees the page exactly as you do, so a secret board you're looking at is just a normal board from the tool's point of view. There's no password to hand over and nothing routed through an outside server, which is the part that trips people up when they picture "downloading a private board." You're not breaking into anything; you're saving pages you already have open.

Revapin works on secret and shared boards the same way it works on public ones. You open the board, tick the pins or grab the whole thing, and download.

It's free to add and keeps everything local, which matters more than usual when the board is private.

Where the line is

To keep it clear, here's what falls on each side:

Keep private things private

Secret boards often hold client work, personal plans, or things you're not ready to show. Downloading them is fine; the files just carry the same sensitivity the board did. Store them somewhere sensible and don't repost anything that was shared with you privately, since access isn't the same as permission to publish.

Downloading private boards sounds like it should be complicated, and it isn't, as long as you already have access. The tool only ever sees what your account sees.
