How to Follow the Right People and Boards on Pinterest

Who and what you follow on Pinterest decides how good your home feed is. You can follow a whole person, a single board of theirs, or a broad topic, and each does something different. Choose them on purpose and the feed fills with things you'd actually save.

Follow the board, not always the whole account.

Following a person vs. a board

When you follow an account, everything they pin can show up for you, including boards on subjects you don't care about. Following a single board is more precise — if someone has one great board on Scandinavian interiors and ten on other things, follow just that one. Open a profile, and you'll see a Follow button on the account and separate follow options on each board.

Following topics

Pinterest also lets you follow interests like "ceramics" or "trail running." These pull from across the whole platform rather than one creator, so they're good for discovering new sources. You can find them under your profile's interests and by tapping topic tags on pins you like.

Using "More ideas" to refine

Each board has a "More ideas" tab that suggests pins related to what's already there. It's the fastest way to find new boards and creators worth following, because the suggestions are keyed to a specific board rather than your whole feed. A short routine keeps things sharp:

Save the best finds as files

The pins that make a curated feed worth having are the same ones that vanish when a creator deletes a board. A browser extension can download the ones you love so they don't depend on someone else's account; Revapin saves them straight to your drive as full-size images.

Follow with intent, lean on "More ideas" when you want more of a good thing, and prune when the feed drifts. A feed you built deliberately is worth more than one that grew by accident.
